Sometimes I'm not always able to
follow the race in real time. When that happens I often avoid current news
reports and instead check out previous race standings. This is almost like
following the race in "real time". One way to do this is to review
the previous race standings in archived "Log Files". One way to
access these files is to go to the Iditarod.Com

There are more instructions at the bottom of the page. Use caution especially if you are following someone at the back of the pack. Mushers are not required to check out of most sites so that the fact that they've left a given checkpoint is not noticed until they check into the next checkpoint. That often results in incorrect assumptions as to their race position.
Go to my Iditarod Web Links site for a list of some of my favorite Iditarod web sites.
Let me know if you have suggestions for change on the above web pages.
